How we can help

We can help you with problems at work, home, TAFE, the Department of Housing, with Guardianship, Centrelink, the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (DADHC), health or anywhere else. We can help if someone is abusing you, someone illegally discriminates against you, you are not receiving a service you need, or you are not satisfied with the support you are getting.

Some of the ways we have helped in the past include

We will listen to you and do our best to understand the problem or issue. We will ask you what you want to do about the problem and what you would like to happen. If possible we will give you information, advice and referrals to help you solve the problem yourself. If you cannot solve the problem yourself we will look at your problem and see how advocacy assistance can help

With your permission we  will talk to people about your problem and try to find ways to solve it

We will always do our best to solve your problem as soon as possible. If we can’t help you, we will try and find someone who can.

It's your Choice

Our advocacy is free and you can choose to ask for our help. We will do our best to support your decisions and choices. We will not do anything without asking for your permission first. We will keep records and files private and confidential. We will only tell your personal information to people who need to know, and only if we have your permission.
